The People vs Hugh DeNeal - Ope - 7" vinyl EP

$10.00

Hugh DeNeal is known mostly as a singer and songwriter for the Trashcan Americana band, Woodbox Gang, and the subject of a documentary film, Confidence Man: The Hugh DeNeal Story. He now leads the group, The People vs Hugh DeNeal. The “People,” along with Hugh on guitar and vocals, are Evan Sims on ukulele, Nathan Graham on upright bass, Dakota Holden on electric guitar and pedal steel, and Greg Edwards on percussion.

Ope is another example of the masterful songwriting that Hugh DeNeal is known for. With his signature dark but humorous approach, he provides the listener with alternative perspectives of the social issues that have been ever present through the last few years. And does so with songs that have a timeless quality. The kind of tunes that would make you want to cry if they weren’t so catchy and dance-able.

  1. Ope

  2. Greatest Generations

  3. America’s Dream

  4. Hang Together

Recorded and mixed by Mike Lescelius at Misunderstudio in Murphysboro, IL

Mastered by Alex Kirt

Cover art and layout by Heather Smith
